Teresa Panasiuk

Teresa Panasiuk (1938-2021) was born in Warsaw. She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk under the supervision of Krystyna Łada-Studnicka, and from 1960 at the Painting Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, in the studio of Artur Nacht-Samborski, where she received her diploma in 1964. The influence of Szamborski and Kapism (Polish Colorists) is undeniable. Despite the evolution of her painting towards synthesis and abbreviation, color was paramount to her. From 1964 to 1968, she worked as an assistant in the studio of Jan Wodyński at the Faculty of Painting of the Academy of Fine Arts.
1974-1979 Curator of the Gallery of Contemporary Art (Krzywe Koło), where she replaced Marian Bogusz after 18 years.
