Authenticity testing

The authenticity of a work of art is the foundation of its artistic and market value. At the Retrospektywa Foundation, we help determine the authenticity of both objects associated with the artists whose work we document, as well as individual works of unclear provenance.

Our expert in this field is Monika Gregorczyk, a court expert in art history since 2023.

Corporate patronage

We offer a variety of corporate sponsorship options. Companies can sponsor selected artistic initiatives, such as preserving artistic heritage, organizing thematic exhibitions, or showcasing art collections. These events can support a company's marketing strategy, build relationships with key partners, and serve as a unique platform for communicating with clients.

We advise companies on creating and managing corporate collections that become an integral part of their identity. These collections can enhance office spaces, strengthen brand image, and provide a way to diversify their art investments.

Private collections

In a natural process, during artists' lifetimes and after their deaths, their works pass from studios to private collections. We believe that these collections play a crucial role in shaping and maintaining the cultural ecosystem of art.

We offer documentation, contextualization, conservation care, collection management, and logistics.

We offer comprehensive support for collections, including:

  • documentation and historical-artistic analysis,

  • conservation care,

  • logistics related to collection management

For emerging collections, we also offer assistance in assessing the authenticity of objects before purchase or more extensive advice in shaping them.

Mariusz Szewczyk is responsible for relations with private collections in our team.

Archiving and Catalogue raisonné

Archiving artistic work is a custom-made process, often tailored to the physical storage of works. We maintain a catalog of works, as well as sketches and publications related to the artist, and create a database with a comprehensive network of references. This process may or may not result in publication in the form of a catalogue raisonné.

The archiving process at our foundation is handled by Aleksander Wawrzyniak, who has been dealing with artist estate issues for 15 years.

This process is overseen by Aleksander Wawrzyniak, an expert with 15 years of experience in the management of artistic heritage (artist estate).

Exhibition activities

Artists' work requires not only protection but also promotion. We organize exhibitions that not only showcase works but also place them in their appropriate historical and artistic context. We offer support at every stage of exhibition implementation: from substantive research and narrative development to logistics and conservation care.

We work with galleries, public institutions, and private collectors, creating spaces where art can be widely experienced and understood.

Retrospective Foundation was founded with the mission of preserving and promoting the heritage of the Polish avant-garde. We specialize in the preservation, archiving, and research of the work of artists who have made significant contributions to the development of modern visual and conceptual language.
